Hi! My name is Lizzy, and I am a software engineer in NYC, NY! I am originally from Southern California.
I graduated from Brown in 2021 studying computer science. My passion for technology started when I taught myself English using educational software at 7 years old. This experience taught me how software can be a powerful tool to drive positive change for both individuals and communities.
In that spirit, as a junior developer, I have championed the client experience while working on full-stack and back-end focused projects in Java. I am interested in platform-based software development, APIs, and open to learning more about other topics.
Beyond technical work, I am passionate about promoting gender-diversity in tech and mentoring younger students. I have been involved in Rewriting the Code (RTC), a national non-profit and community for women in tech, for 4+ years. I also volunteer for the Percentage Project, another non-profit that uses data to advocate for diversity in college computer science departments.
My hobbies are painting, yoga, and writing on Medium.
